Frequently Asked Question about UUByte LiteBoot

UUByte LiteBoot is a popular program for creating bootable USB from various Linux ISO. We have tested it on dozens of Linux distributions before final release. This makes sure there are fewer errors when using this software.

However, there might be some issues due to latest technology updates at both software and hardware level. Below is a list of common questions and suggested solutions. If you have problem in using this tool, please read this section carefully.

Question 1: Free trial available?

No. This is a premium software. You have to purchase a license key to activate the program. After registration, you can burn Linux ISO to USB.

Question 2: USB drive not detected by LiteBoot

First, make sure the USB drive is recognized by the computer. If not, check if the USB driver is installed properly or not. You can also change another USB port for testing.

Question 3: Failed to start Linux installation wizard

After selecting USB as the first boot device, Linux installation wizard should be popped up next. If you see any loading error on screen, it is most probably that the ISO image is broken or damaged. Please re-download it from official website and burn it again.

Question 4: Ask to format USB drive during burning process

You might see a warning message at burning process, asking you to format the drive. Please click Cancel button and close UUByte LiteBoot. Then open LiteBoot again and choose the right USB drive from drop-down menu in USB selection field. After that, click Free up button at the bottom to reset the USB drive. If the error happens again, please repeat the process one more time.

Question 5: No storage information of USB drive in Windows Explorer

When the burning task is completed, you will see there is no storage information about the USB drive and only a drive name attached to it. Don’t worry! This is a normal. Now, it is a bootable device for Linux OS installation. Once the installation is finished, open LiteBoot and Free up the device. After that, the USB drive will return to normal.

Question 6: How much time waiting for burn process?

Usually, 3-5 minutes. If the burning task is completed so quickly (less than 10 seconds), you have to close the program, free up the USB and burn it again.
